Istanbul offers many excellent investment opportunities from buy to let, to luxury ex-pat homes. One of the many questions asked is about the sporting facilities and tennis facilities in particular. Worry not! Investing in Istanbul or not, be sure to visit the Koza World of Sports facility in Esenyurt, Istanbul. Just off the TEB highway on route to Edirne, take the Esenyurt - Bahcesehir exit. This easy to access facility was built by Garanti Koza and is promoted as the largest tennis academy in the world. Its world class facilities include seating for 7,500 in the centre court, which also boasts a retractable roof. Two further clay courts increase the seating capacity to 9,500. Opened in 2013, this superb sporting facility also contains 63 tennis courts alongside volley ball and basketball courts, football field and swimming pools.
The Koza World of Sports plays host to the WTA ( Women’s Tennis Association) Istanbul Cup and also the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open, which had its inaugural tournament in Turkey at Koza World of Sport in 2015.
The Turkish home crowd was delighted when Çağla Büyükakçay became the first Turkish women to not only get to a WTA final, but then to win the singles title, beating Danka Kovinic, from Montenegro on 24th April 2016. Çağla, can also claim to be the first Turkish woman to become part of the WTZ Top 100.
