According to the most popular real time location sharing application, Foursquare’s data; Istanbul’s most Checked-in locations are as listed below.
Ataturk International Airport
Without a doubt the first place is due to intense traffic of foreign and local visitors. Istanbul’s first airport in the European side, hosting more than 100 thousand passengers from all around the world, holding the title of the most checked-in location in Istanbul.
Kadikoy
One of the iconic districts of Istanbul, Kadikoy; with its historic values such as Haydarpasa Train Station, Designer and other boutique shops, popular cafes and restaurants, has always been a popular visiting point for tourists and locals. Most of the public transportation stations such as metrobus, metro, bus and ferries are also located in Kadikoy, making it an important transition district. Other than that, recent urban transformation projects are increasing the attraction of Kadikoy, turning it into a valuable district for luxury real estate in Istanbul.
Bagdat Street
Bagdat Street is one of the first regions that comes to mind when we think about luxurious regions in Istanbul. Most of the world class designer clothing stores and other luxury shops, cafes and restaurants are located on this popular shopping street. In the scope of Kadikoy’s urban transformation process a lot of luxury apartments in Istanbul are also being built in this region and on the street itself.

Europe’s second biggest and Turkey’s biggest Mall, Cevahir malls’ visitors reach up to more than 100 thousand in the weekends. There are 280 stores, 34 fast-food restaurants and 14 Restaurants in this mega mall and it has the World’s biggest clock on its ceiling where each number on the clock is taller than 3 meters.
Besiktas
Besiktas is very similar to Kadikoy district which is on the Asian side. It is an important transition point for public transportation and it has a coast like Kadikoy. There is a bazaar in the center, popular cafes and restaurants in the alleys and due to its proximity to popular touristic visiting regions such as Kabatas and Taksim, Besiktas has always been one of the most crowded and most populated districts of Istanbul.
Mecidiyekoy
Mecidiyekoy is one of the important central districts of Istanbul. Most of the main public transit systems such as metro, metrobus line and bus stations in the district hence, It is an important access point for other districts of Istanbul and some of the biggest malls like Cevahir, Trump and Profilo malls are also located in Mecidiyekoy.
Istinye Park
Istinye Park is another very popular mall in Istanbul. It is not as big as Cevahir mall but it is one of the first haunts that tourists and locals visit because of its world class brand and designer stores and luxurious restaurants. İstinye Park is the only mall with all the possible designer shops together on a single outdoor square.
